Must be a FLORIDA Certified EMT

Attendants (non-drivers)

  • Current AHA BLS HealthCare CPR
  • Valid Florida Driver's License
  • Pass Criminal Background check

Drivers (pending insurance approval)

  • Current AHA BLS HealthCare CPR
  • Valid Florida Driver License with good driving records
  • Pass Criminal Background check
  • Completion certificate for EVOC preferred

Florida Paramedic Certification Required

  • Current AHA ACLS certification
  • Valid Florida Driver's License
  • Able to pass criminal background check

 Critical Care Paramedic a plus!

License/Certifications:

  • Must be certified by the State of Florida as an EMR, EMT, or Paramedic or be certified by the National Academy of Emergency Dispatch as an EMD.

Specific job activities and accountabilities include:

  • Receive emergency calls with professionalism and pleasant tone of voice.
  • Obtain information regarding emergencies such as location and nature of illness or injury.
  • Dispatch appropriate emergency vehicle to the scene using radio and computer dispatch system.
  • Transmit necessary information to field personnel via radio, telephone and computer communication systems and advise appropriate public safety staff of emergencies; Prepare and maintain records and reports.
  • Evaluate location of emergency vehicles to maintain efficient and responsive deployment of resources.
  • Perform other related duties as assigned.

Educational Requirements:

  • Must have high school diploma or GED as well as medical terminology experience.
  • College degree in medical coding or equivalent work experience is preferred.
  • EMT or Paramedic background is extremely helpful.

Specific job activities and accountabilities include:

  • Analysis and data entry of transportation trip sheets.
  • Billing claims to appropriate payor - either insurance, facility or patient.
  • Answering telephone inquiries regarding patient accounts and/or transports.
  • Verifying patient insurance coverage using the computer systems.
